Jazz Band is an extracurricular performing group that meets from November through the end of the school year under the instruction of our Jazz Band Director(s). Membership is open to students involved in the DNHS Music Program (current members of Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, or Orchestra).

Starting in January, there are two Jazz Bands at Del Norte - A Band and B Band. Please check the Music & Events Calendar for rehearsal dates and times. Please note that students should arrive earlier to set up and be prepared to start playing at the start time.

Regular attendance is a requirement. Students accruing two unexcused absences will be removed from the group for the remainder of the year. Unexcused absences include missing for homework or work reasons. Please see the Official Attendance Policy handed out at the beginning of the year for the Del Norte High School Instrumental Music Program.

CONCERT ATTIRE FOR "A" BAND

Ladies:

• • Option 1: All Black Dress

    • Sleeves: 3/4 length (below elbow) to full length

    • Dress: 3/4 length (mid-shin) to full length

  • Option 2: All Black Dress Blouse and Dress Pants

    • Sleeves: 3/4 length (below elbow) to full length

    • Pants: full length only

  • Option 3: All Black Dress Blouse and Black Skirt

    • Sleeves: 3/4 length (below elbow) to full length

    • Skirt: 3/4 length (mid-shin) to full length

All Ladies:

• • Black dress shoes

  • Black nylons or black socks (long, not ankle length)

  • Jewelry is permitted, but should be small, not flashy

Gentlemen:

• • Plain black dress shirt

  • Plain black suit pants

  • Long, plain black socks

  • Black dress shoes

  • Dark blue jeans

  • Long black socks
